We love RIGS! Just got back from a fly fishing trip and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. I brought my wife and two boys. It was our first time fly fishing and RIGS made it so much fun. We caught a ton of fish and learned a lot. Mack and Jack were our guides. They were great with our boys and took a genuine interest in them. They really went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience.

We want to thank David, from Rigs Fly Shop, for an incredible day out on the San Miguel catching rainbows! It was both mine and my wife’s first time fly fishing and David was extremely patient and very willing to share his vast knowledge of what could easily become our favorite way to fish. Landing my first fish on a fly rod and it being a 17in rainbow was beyond my expectations and I have David to thank for that. Also David having my wife roll casting like a seasoned fly fisherman was incredible to watch. Looking forward to taking another trip with David up to the high country soon.

We’ve always wanted to do a fly-fishing trip in this area of Colorado while visiting our son. For my husband’s birthday, we booked the High Country full-day trip for two with RIGS, conveniently located in Ridgway (close to Ouray). From booking to the end of the trip, the RIGS team was exceptional. David and Nick were professional and patient in answering all our questions, and they went out of their way to accommodate our son, a local climbing guide for Basecamp Ouray who has a busy schedule himself and was joining us last-minute—even during their busy season.
Plan the Perfect Day with RIGS
Tell us where you want to fish, when you want to go, and how many anglers are joining you. The RIGS team will match your request with the right guide and trip type—whether it’s a quick half-day on the Uncompahgre or a full-day float down the Gunnison.
Once you submit your request, we’ll confirm guide availability, share trip details, and help you finalize your booking.

Submit your request directly on this page. Your details go straight to the RIGS Fly Shop team, who’ll confirm guide availability and send a secure link for your deposit.
When is payment due?
No payment is collected at booking. Once your trip is confirmed, you’ll pay a deposit to reserve your date. The remaining balance is due the week before your trip.

Safety always comes first. If river conditions make the trip unsafe or unfishable, the shop will reschedule your trip or issue a raincheck credit for a future date.

Do I need a fishing license?
Yes. A valid state fishing license is required for all anglers. You can usually buy one online through Colorado Parks & Wildlife or directly at the fly shop.
What’s included in a guided trip?
Each shop provides its own gear and amenities, but most trips include a professional guide, flies, leaders, and tippet. You’ll usually need to bring a valid fishing license, personal gear, and any food or drinks for the day.
